* Add normalize routine to normalise bboxsets. This isn't perfect yet,schnetter2003-03-18
| | | | | | | | | | | Add normalize routine to normalise bboxsets. This isn't perfect yet, i.e. it still misses some cases. Fix bug in calculating the regions that should be restricted to: exclude all regions used as source for boundary prolongations, even if these prolongations go to a different processor. darcs-hash:20030318163025-07bb3-1cfed59a57c2db71d3dae5528e93a570ccb13101.gz

| | | | | | | | | | | | | Removed the "dimgeneric_*" data types from CarpetLib. They were never really used anyway. Changed "th" into "th<D>". Renamed "generic_*" to "g*". Propagated these changes to all other places. darcs-hash:20030103144936-07bb3-c4d74d2d94a56a898f9bb735666eefc01e2610e2.gz

| | | | | | | | | | | | bboxset.hh: Added new function "setsize" to the bboxset class. It returns how many bounding boxes are in the set. dh.cc: Restrict to a smaller region. Exclude those points that are necessary to prolongate to the boundaries. Restrict.cc: Don't prolongate the boundaries after restricting. darcs-hash:20021212154955-07bb3-cbd598a3c35120a286278e50c6fde61c8b2c6a66.gz

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Removed user choice of C++ template instantiation model. In my experience, only one model works, namely explicit template instantiaion. No need to pretend that the other things work with Cactus. (Don't complain to me -- I also think it's a shame that something that calls itself "compiler" isn't able to do this automatically. Many other compilers for many other languages do this kind of thing without even mentioning it. So there's either something fundamentally wrong with the C++ standard, or with the C++ compiler writers, or with the perceived wishlists of C++ users. And I would bet an arm and a leg that it's not the second of these.) darcs-hash:20020505201656-07bb3-a1b8dfc5587d59c718ad25ce89d0c8973c2b3e6f.gz
* Cleaned up the code to make it work with multiple multigrid levelsschnetter2002-01-09
| | | | | | | | | | Cleaned up the code to make it work with multiple multigrid levels (aka shadow hierarchy). The shadow logic is not yet in place. Added simple recombining to the clusterer. This should lead to fewer grid components. Not very tested. darcs-hash:20020109125624-07bb3-f2d22fa4583bf562101ab521606e6142585622a7.gz

| | | | | | | | | Changed handling of interpolation orders; they are now stored in the grid functions and don't have to be passed around. Speeded up some prolongation operators. They are still slow. darcs-hash:20011209154308-07bb3-caa74a89a87c290852f2b59160ed26d9361f3cf1.gz

| | | | | | | | Introduced abstraction classes that have no <dim> parameter. This will make it easier to adapte the driver to support multiple dimensions at once. darcs-hash:20010612125655-07bb3-1cba35eb867eca1234b3a40bd7a5641b64776c50.gz
* Modified the Carpet driver so that it uses the same new timelevelschnetter2001-04-23
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Modified the Carpet driver so that it uses the same new timelevel cycling as does PUGH. Modified the CarpetIOASCII and CarpetIOFlexIO output routines so that they always output the current time level. Found and fixed a bug in the time interpolation in CarpetLib. Fixed a bug where the necessary number of ghost zones for space interpolation was calculated incorrectly. Fixed bugs in the example parameter files that used an insufficient number of ghost zones. darcs-hash:20010423061011-07bb3-c69e59f7bc5f283d7632a663c0770578cdb73881.gz

| | | | | | | | Higher-order interpolation requires more ghost zones. Changed Carpet and CarpetLib to provide for that, and switched WaveToy to using two ghost zones. darcs-hash:20010328165604-f6438-1cb76681b90dda1f5934cbda405b6c32b754b6e5.gz

* Changed the way output is handled. Now output is per refinement leveleschnett2001-03-16
| | | | | | | | | Changed the way output is handled. Now output is per refinement level only. A single cctk_iteration is now a time step on the finest grid, instead of a time step on the coarsest grid. The analysis stage should now work on the finer grid. darcs-hash:20010316203212-f6438-36f1809e816f4b3ae73a1a837c0fcd8d81616120.gz
* Two refinement levels now work, but only without symmetry boundaries.eschnett2001-03-13
| | | | | | | | | Two refinement levels now work, but only without symmetry boundaries. "work" is here defined by the eyeball. With symmetry boundaries, there is either a bug or a bad interaction of restricting, prolongating, and the symmetry boundary on the coarse grid. darcs-hash:20010313164030-f6438-2c18a10421487f6328e0e782322332c67fb203fd.gz

| | | | | | | | | Make the Carpet WaveToy almost-work with two refinement levels. The basic error was that the Carpet time levels were set to the Cactus time levels, but they need to be different. In Carpet, level 0 is always the current level, and not so in Cactus. darcs-hash:20010312155417-f6438-7c09703fc594525f2d68d4f9da2e3f3eeaec9c57.gz

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Carpet now passes the Cart3d test suite. This required a rewrite of CarpetSlabe, which now uses the data<> class instead of doing things its own way. This in turn required some updates to data<>. CarpetSlab now ignores (i. e. does not use) boundaries, except outer boundaries. For that to work, the dh<> class has been given the notion of an outer boundary. In order to increase performance, the cctk_bbox[] information in Carpet is not set correctly. As an approximation, it just reflects whether the current grid component lies at the outer boundary, as calculated using cctk_lbnd, cctk_ubnd, and cctk_gsh. darcs-hash:20010310195459-f6438-8ee874d722de4df717e5eb3002722ceb8d4a9bb7.gz

| | | | | | | | Made WaveToyF77 run on multiple processors with CarpetSlab. Addes "bases" in gh and dh. They contain the extent of a bounding box enclosing all components on a level. darcs-hash:20010307120057-f6438-829d3c60a80c7b13f850c0ad187257bb6e1b963f.gz
