# $Header$

The aim of this file is to describe the environment necessary to
build the CCTK on an NT platform.

Apart from the required software noted in the manual, you must install
the cygwin package available from http://www.cynus.com (FIXME ?).

After installing Cygwin, you must make sure that the GNU CPP is somewhere
on your path, and that the directory path leading to it contains no names
containing spaces - these would confuse the autoconf program 8-(

You must also install Microsoft Visual C and Digital Visual Fortran. Other
compilers may work, but are currently not supported.

In principle now all you need to do is start bash, checkout the CCTK,
and run make.

Note that there may be warnings whilst generating dependencies for the C and
C++ files, these may be ignored.

Special note for people using non-English versions of NT. Currently
the include path to find the MS C include files is set for an english
language version, you will need to modify the SYS_INC_DIRS line in your
make.config.defn file (in a configuration) to the appropriate one. It is
recommended that you use the 8.3 formatted name available from dir /x
on the command prompt (not bash), so as to get a name with no spaces in -
this makes life a lot easier 8-( We are currently trying to find a way
to automate the process.
