Purpose of the thorn:

Input and output data using the HDF5 based F5 file format.



An F5 file contains the following hierarchy:

        file
        timestep
        simulation
        topology
        coordinate_system
        physical_quantity
        tensor_component
        data_region

2006-06-05: Werner says that tensor_component and data_region should
be interchanged.

2007-04-25: Werner confirms this.
